Being A Caregiver At Sussex Healthcare

Sussex Healthcare chooses carers carefully, based on a long list of factors designed to ensure the highest standards of quality care. We prefer to select those who may not necessarily have lots of experience in this specific field, but who can demonstrate a quality of character that will help them fit in within our communities. The company’s mission is to provide each resident with the highest quality of care. This means that all caregivers must be warm, friendly and compassionate to the residents, and genuinely have an interest in their lives, medical needs, and wellbeing overall. Sussex Healthcare hires people who want to learn about each resident as an individual. Also, the company looks for creative caregivers who can suggest improvements to make life better for residents—not only when it comes to their physical health, but also their mental, social, and overall wellness for a holistic approach to care. Caregivers must be observant to ensure the highest standard of care, day in and day out.

In addition to being able to work well with residents and their family members, caregivers at Sussex Healthcare must work well with other staff members. Cohesion is key at Sussex Healthcare, and we bring a strong company culture that you’ll be expected to fit in with without much trouble. The company prides itself in hiring workers who value and practice teamwork, and who genuinely enjoy collaborating with others to provide the best possible experience.. At Sussex Healthcare, the leadership team members work hard to highlight the value of each worker on a regular basis. When all workers understand that their contributions are vital to the overall quality of life for residents, teamwork is easier to perpetuate. To maintain its commitment to consistency in quality care, Sussex Healthcare hires reliable and punctual caregivers. If you can demonstrate a history of work that shows punctuality and dependability, then we would love to have you on our team. All you have to do is apply so that we can get to know you and your unique background and experience!

Every new caregiver is expected to provide care in a way that protects the dignity of each resident. Each of our residents is more than just a name and list of needs—they’re human beings, who deserve to have their needs met in a way that provides them with a dignified lifestyle during this late period of their life. Also, caregivers must promote independence by following each resident’s care plan for assistance tasks. Carers assist residents with daily activities such as eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and walking. This will require the highest level of sensitivity, maturity, and dignity when working with residents as it relates to many of these needs. Respect is of the utmost importance, and much of your success in a position with Sussex will depend on how much respect you can demonstrate for our residents. Candidates who are called for a phone screening will receive more information about the job description.

The main Sussex Healthcare facility is in Horsham. This is also the location of the company’s latest addition, which is a state-of-the-art gym. The gym is open to all Sussex Healthcare residents. With physical therapists and fitness trainers on staff, residents have access to special programs that help them maintain or improve their mobility. There are underwater treadmills, a pool, a jetted hot tub and many other beneficial features. All of this equipment is paired with a highly trained staff put in place to help them exercise their bodies and mind for the best possible overall health. We want our residents to feel independent and strong in more ways than one, and both our facilities and staff are responsible for helping that happen.

Sussex Healthcare promotes activities such as outdoor exercise, gardening, crafts, singing and excursions. Caregivers encourage residents to discuss what they enjoy doing and to participate in activities. We want them to feel like individuals, who haven’t lost their individualism or personal uniqueness just because they’ve started this new phase of their lives as a resident in one of our homes.

While many of the residents who live at Sussex Healthcare facilities are elderly individuals, there are plenty of younger residents who have profound and multiple learning disabilities. They will need your care and attention just as much, if not more so, than our elderly residents on hand. Also, some people receive care at Sussex Healthcare facilities while they recover from surgery or major injuries. Caregivers who do not have experience with one or more of these groups of people receive proper training. That way you’ll be able to add more skills and knowledge to your resume and be better equipped for the future of your career as a caregiver.

She has more than 20 years of combined experience in administration, nursing and compliance management positions. Sussex Healthcare is Britain’s only independent network of care homes with dual accreditation, making it a wholly unique entity in the world of considerate medical care. The company received the ISO 9000:2000 in 2005 and the HQS in 2002. Additionally, the Investors in People standard was granted to Sussex Healthcare in 2003.
