For the past decade, Apple has continued to be one of the most innovative companies in the world. While they have continued to develop new and more advanced lines of phones and tablets on a regular basis, they have also continued to impress people with their continued growing line of emojis. With each update to the Apple phone and tablet operating system, customers also get to enjoy a new line of emojis. While many customers are normally very excited about these emojis when they come out, there has been a recent backlash over a new one.

Over the past few weeks, Apple has released a new emoji set that included more than 70 new images. Many of these were emojis of some favorite foods including cupcakes. However, one food addition was not what people were looking for. The recent addition included a new bagel emoji, which was very disappointing for some people. Many were not happy with the appearance of the bagel, which showed a very generic, plain, and stale bagel that was sliced in half.

For those that are bagel fans, this ended up being a very negative thing to see. Many people were upset that this did not accurately depict how good a bagel and shmear could be. The newest trending Apple keyword on many social media websites was #bagelgate. While Apple was criticized for this new emoji addition, the company appears set to fix the problem. Apple is currently working on a new image and emoji that will fix the issue for many people(https://www.google.com/amp/s/9to5mac.com/2018/10/16/bagel-emoji/amp/).

The new emoji that will be added is still a sliced bagel, but it looks far more satisfying than the prior option. As opposed to being an old plain and dried out bagel, this one looks far fresher and is even covered with some cream cheese. While this will likely help to reduce the backlash, many are still not pleased. With all of the good bagel options out there, some would like that the company would reach out and try to get some help and inspiration. Many of those that are in the New York area would have wanted to see a bagel that would have had some more crisp and seasoning to it, similar to the classic everything bagel that is found in bakeries all over the country.
