Belinda Stronach has worked in the Canadian political arena for many years, but her main passion in life is helping others. She has been a leader in business in Canada and internationally. Born in Ontario, Canada, her family was heavily involved in business. She has studied both economics and business at her time in school, and she has developed her diversity skills by speaking fluent German and English.

Stronach established a self-named foundation in the mid-2000s. The foundation works to establish young women in the business world and give them the skills to develop both mentally and physically. The group has collaborated with other philanthropies such as the Clintons and the Tony Blair Foundation.

One of the many great accomplishments that she was able to achieve with her foundation was the one laptop per child system she developed in Canada. She wanted a way to promote technology and learning to all children across Canadian providences, but she was clear that it was not to be a one-time approach. In addition to delivering necessary laptops, the program had to deliver the knowledge, education, and tools to use the equipment. Her ability to bring together communities and leaders for the betterment of kids shines brightly in this moment.

Belinda Stronach had a busy year in 2010. As her laptop program was getting off the ground, she also focused her energy on a conference that encouraged young women’s development. The Girls (G) Summit was a method to have girls and business leaders come together to develop communication skills, business models, and economical abilities.

In addition to her time focusing on young women, Belinda Stronach eventually had to take time to focus on herself. In early 2000s, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which led to a mastectomy. Her cancer diagnosis and treatment did not leave her without compassion for a new cause. She was able to raise over $1 million for breast cancer mainly focusing on reconstructive operations. Belinda Stronach paid for her own cancer reconstructive surgery out of her own funds, so she is acutely aware of the cost that women face to undergo this procedure.

During this time of her own personal growth and philanthropy, she continued her work in politics. She hopes to make a change in the lives of every citizen. She is an advocate for women, cancer survivors, and all citizens who are looking for a voice to better humankind and planet.

Recently, Belinda Stronach made a public announcement that she would be taking time away from the political venue. She stated that she wanted to focus on being with her family and her philanthropic foundations. She wants to spend time with her own children, helping girls in her foundation and to create systems to end to plight in Africa. In Africa, Stronach is working on programs to bring in food and better medicine. Belinda Stronach has many deep passions and concerns that will continue to drive her to make a change in the world one person and one situation at a time.
