In order to reap the most benefits, you will need to do it for at least 52 hours for six months. Researchers have stated that the number of hours that you exercise per week does not really matter.

Joyce Gomes-Osman is the lead author of the study. She is also a neuroscientist at the University of Miami School of Medicine. She stated that it does not matter how you break up the exercise sessions. She also stated that the results of the study are encouraging. It shows people that they do not have to spend hours of their time exercising in order to reap the benefits.

Joyce has also stated that low-intensity exercise can also be beneficial. This new research was based on observations from over 100 studies. The mean age of the subjects was 73. Joyce stated that she prescribes exercise as medication to her patients.

There are no drugs that can stop cognitive decline. That is why exercising is one of the best things that you can do to protect your brain. Dr. Douglas Scharre is the director of the Center for Cognitive and Memory Disorders at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was not involved in the study, but he agrees with the results of the research.

Douglas stated that exercise is great for the brain. The brain is being stimulated during exercise. Watching television does not stimulate the brain as much as exercise does.
