The Earth is in transition mode, according to climate scientists. The North Pole keeps moving south, and the Northern Lights seem to be drifting toward Russia. Arctic ice keeps melting at an unprecedented rate, and ocean levels continue to rise. But despite those ominous signs, President Trump refused to accept scientific reports that outline the dangers that will embrace the world as humans continue to release toxins into the atmosphere, according to the New York Times.

Trump denounces climate change in order to promote fossil fuels. Trump has a financial attachment to the fossil fuel industry. His Commerce Secretary is a coal baron and other present and past cabinet members have strong ties to the industry. Mr. Trump invested in Energy Transfer Partners several years ago. Energy Transfer Partners is the primary builder of the Dakota Access Pipeline.

But Trump’s investments in the fossil fuel industry don’t stop there. Trump owns stock in Chevron, Exxon Mobile, Shell, Halliburton, Conoco Phillips, and Occidental Petroleum, according to Greenpeace. Mr. Trump’s protects his investments while he is in office, according to the New York Times.

The permafrost in Siberia is under attack. The remains of animals that roamed that area of the world thousands of years keep washing ashore thanks to the climate change. This Kingdom of Winter is one of the coldest places on Earth, but the kingdom is not as cold as it was fifty years ago, according to the New York Times. The loss of permafrost destroys homes, barns, roads, and villages in Siberia, and there’s not much the people who call that country home can do about it.

Climate change is a global issue, but some areas of the world are harder hit than others, according to climate scientists. Russia is one of those areas. but Putin, like Trump, does nothing to help those people deal with the challenges they face from these Earth changes.

Flights across the Northern Atlantic experience more intense turbulence now that the Earth is in transition mode. Passengers flying to Europe or returning from that part of the world say they experienced severe turbulence even though the skies were clear.

Severe clear-air turbulence threatens passenger safety. A recent Turkish Airlines flight hit clear-air turbulence over Maine on the way back from Europe. Several injured passengers and crew members on the Boeing 777 went to the hospital when they landed. Scientists say incidents like that will happen more frequently. And there’s no way to avoid the turbulence until the pilots experience it, according to airline officials.
