While currently serving as the vice-chairman of the prestigious Rothschild Inc., Roger Kimmel has made his mark in many areas of the company. Known for his expertise in such areas as corporate law and governance, private equity transactions, and international capital markets, he has been regarded as one of the foremost experts in these and other important areas of financial services. As a result, he has served as a consultant on numerous matters over the years, including contested equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and how various aspects of corporate law apply to national and international business matters.
Along with his excellent background in business, Roger Kimmel has also been viewed as one of the best corporate attorneys in the nation. In fact, prior to joining Rothschild Inc., he made a name for himself with the law firm of Latham & Watkins, where he again focused on complex areas of corporate law and finance. Using his excellent knowledge of law, he found himself regularly in charge of many of the firm’s most unique and challenging cases.
As he has transitioned throughout various areas of his career, Roger Kimmel has taken on many roles. For example, he has been a successful entrepreneur, creating a publicly-traded pharmaceutical company that went on to have tremendous success. Along with this, he has also been involved with companies in a wide range of fields, such as nutrition and wellness, motion picture development, and alternative energy.
While he has thoroughly enjoyed all of his previous endeavors, Roger Kimmel will tell anyone that his current role as a faculty member at the University of Virginia Law School is perhaps his most satisfying. Teaching a class titled “Inside the Boardroom” to students who are preparing to specialize in corporate law, he brings to his class a perspective few other professors can match. In the years ahead, Roger Kimmel plans to not only continue teaching law classes and being involved in corporate management, but also spend large amounts of his time involved in philanthropy.
