Furthering their objective to provide innovative solutions to healthcare providers, Evergreen Healthcare Partners recently announced the hiring of someone whose experience has seated him in advisory capacities for several healthcare startups.
Managing partner and co-founder of Evergreen, Drew Madden, welcomes the addition of Dave Lundal as a managing partner and Vice President of Advisory Solutions.
“Dave will leverage his experience as a Healthcare CIO to lead a growing Evergreen team that is focused on delivering solutions that are innovative, relevant, and evolving to meet the needs of healthcare systems across the country,” says Madden. He notes that Lundal’s own track record parallels the tenants on which Evergreen operates.
Lundal’s resume includes 27 years in healthcare IT work for both payer and provider, lending keen insight from both ends of the spectrum, according to Madden. Three different health systems in the U.S. recruited Lundal as an executive and CIO because of his passion for mentorship and innovative technology.
A Key Milestone Accomplished
“Dave’s arrival at Evergreen marks an important milestone in our mission to be an industry leading healthcare consulting partner for our clients,” said Madden, the former president of Nordic Consulting Partners whose leadership with the firm helped it earn the rank of the largest Epic consulting company in the world with an annual revenue of over $130 million.
Madden, whose experience really revolves around electronic medical records (EMR), knows that healthcare technology is currently moving at a record setting speed. He said people like Lundal only stand to help Evergreen stay ahead of the curve in healthcare consulting.
Too Many Cracks in the Floor
Drew Madden points to IT systems that eliminate inefficiencies where dropped appointments, insufficient recording, and incompatible software often lead to loss in revenues for providers. But, more critically, says Madden, such voids endanger the patient’s potential recovery and health in general.
When only a little more than half of all faxed or paper-based patient referrals result in a genuine appointment for the patient, healthcare IT needs to turn a corner, says Madden.
Lundal agrees. “Now more than ever, healthcare is in need of innovative solutions to improve quality and reduce cost,” states Lundal, who said he gravitated to Evergreen’s ambitions of becoming a full-service healthcare consulting partner.
“I was attracted by Evergreen’s vibrant culture,” he noted.
The Future is Unrestrained
Madden admits he is excited about where his team can go with its commitment to full service consulting in the healthcare industry. Lundal will fill a vital piece of the puzzle toward reaching this goal, according to Madden.
He said Evergreen’s collective EHR, operational, advisory, and IT services are now poised to raise the bar in terms of service to the company’s partners in healthcare.
In the end, say both Madden and Lundal, such comprehensive integration of data, referrals, authorizations, and alternative doctors or treatments through IT innovations will benefit the entire healthcare chain—from patients to providers and their peripheral healthcare professionals.
“With Dave’s experience as a CIO and healthcare executive, we have a unique opportunity to develop and deliver solutions curated by someone who has faced the same challenges that CIOs encounter daily,” Madden says.
It’s all there for the taking, Madden insists, “but we need to put our collective energies, ideas and skills to work on the same page.” He looks forward to continuing to attract industry leaders like Lundal, to create a better patient experience through Evergreen’s collaboration with their healthcare partners .
