Fellow actors and fans online have shown support behind Geoffrey Owens. There were photos of the ex-actor of the Cosby-show working in a supermarket as a cashier. Owens was working at Trader Joe’s supermarket. This triggered mockery from some critics. Geoffrey Owens once played Elvin Tibidieaux, the husband to Sondra Huxtable. The ex-actor played the role on the famous NBC sitcom from the year 1985 to 1992. According to IMDB, Owens later appeared in a show known as ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ and ‘That’s So Raven.’ The Daily mail had posted pictures of Geoffrey Owens that were captured by a customer who was at Trader’s Joe’s based in New Jersey. The consumer left a note that read’ From learning lines to serving lines.’ The images showed Geoffrey Owens busy ringing up groceries with a name tag on his shirt written his name on it, ‘Geoffrey.’

Karma Lawrence, a regular shopper at Trader Joe’s store, notified his wife that he saw Owens, the ex-Cosby actor at the cashier desk. Lawrence said that seeing him at the cashier desk made him feel bad. He could not understand why he ended up as a cashier while he spent many years of acting and doing big shows. Owens story caught the attention of many media houses, including Fox News. Fox ran a story of Owens pictures that were taken by Lawrence as he was shopping. The story made by Fox news triggered plenty of memes and jokes online. One person on Tweeter quoted a line from the Cosby show and posted it online for mockery.

The Fox News and Daily Mail stories also prompted outpouring support for the ex-actor. His fellow actors and fans from all corners of the world showed him support while others mocked his new job. Other supporters noted that Fox News and Daily Mail attempted to humiliate Geoffrey Owens. Jack woods wrote that Owens was ambitious and that many directors should emulate his efforts. Owen is a good man and, many should follow in his footsteps and swallow their pride. Geoffrey is different from many pretenders because he is showing the willingness to work. Family ties said that the individuals who were taking images of him and posting online are all trash. Dana Loesch, the NRA spokeswoman, said that Owens is very hardworking and there was no shame in working as a cashier in a supermarket. However, there was a total shame for all those that published his story to trigger mockery.
