There has been a lot of talk over the past year about the subject of climate change. This has heated up a lot since many Democrats announced that they were going to be running for president. Climate change is a very big issue among liberals. Therefore, the topic has been discussed in great detail at the Democratic presidential debates. One of the biggest names in the world when it comes to environmental activism is Greta Thunberg. She is 16 years old and has been a huge voice when it comes to getting countries around the world to change the way that they deal with climate change and other environmental issues.

Greta was asked to give a speech about climate change to world leaders who were assembled at the United Nations building in New York City. Her speech was filled with anger as she pointed out that many of the world leaders in attendance had failed to do their part to protect the planet. She was visibly angry. Her speech got a lot of publicity around the world. Will it have an impact in the way these countries go about their business in the future? Only time will tell.

There is no question that Greta has been very successful in bringing more attention to the global issue of climate change than there ever has been before. The fact that she is so young and has already amassed such a large following has proven to politicians that she is a voice that commands a lot of sway with voters. Therefore, they are never quick to dismiss her because of her youth. They do not want to risk offending any potential voters by appearing to talk down to the girl. The media has fallen in love with her.

There were several protests about climate change that took place at the same time the United Nations meetings were going on. There seems to be a lot of awareness about climate change among young voters in the United States. In fact, a survey was conducted where voters under the age of 25 were asked what their most important issue was in the 2020 election. The vast majority of these young adults said climate change. President Trump has done many things to anger environmental groups since he took office. Will this have a negative impact on his reelection campaign? It remains to be seen. We will find out soon enough.
